Fees are based upon students taking 40 lessons a year (20 if fortnightly) and adjusted pro-rata to split the cost evenly over 12 months to the following monthly payments:
60 minutes - £137/month (weekly) | £68.50/month (fortnightly)

30 minutes - £73/month
Mini Maestros (20 minutes) - £50/month
Payments are due at the beginning of every month ahead of lessons taken.
Ad-hoc lessons (less than one per month) and trial lessons are charged at the full lesson fee and students can pay at the studio at the time of the lesson.

Students are required to give teachers at least 24 hours’ notice. Any lesson cancelled will come out of the 12 grace lessons not covered by the lesson fees. If cancelled lessons exceed the 12 grace lessons, fees are retained by Aspire Music without the student receiving a refund. Should a teacher cancel, the student will receive a make-up credit to reschedule the lesson at a mutually convenient time.
A written notice period of no less than 1 month is required to terminate your lessons.

During your initial sign up, you will be sent a student questionnaire to fill in and get back to us before your first lesson so we are as prepared as possible.
If you are a more experienced musician, you should bring along some music or a song you feel comfortable performing so your teacher can assess what is the best route for you. Beginners need not worry about this so much except for singers - it’s always helpful if you’re prepared with a song you know but don’t worry too much if not!
Your teacher will go through your questionnaire to find out exactly what you want out of lessons, you’ll start with some warm ups and away you go! We have an Instagram reel about your first lesson if you’d like to check it out.
-
Instrumentalists will definitely need their own instrument sooner rather than later but please don’t rush to buy one for the sake of it. If you don’t already have one, your teacher will discuss your options during your first lesson and there are hire options as well as purchase to save any costly mistakes.

It is always our intention for provide students with opportunities which give them varied experiences so in addition to concerts, we hold regular masterclasses, open mics and recording sessions. Students are also welcome to take exams throughout the year.
-
Of course! Many of our current students are adults who have lessons for a range of reasons, from being a total beginner, to wanting to better their technique or even wanting to practise repertoire for upcoming auditions. As each lesson is tailored to the student, anyone is welcome to have lessons.

We are currently using LCM and ABRSM. Exam session are run three times a year and the boards are now also offering performance exams which are recorded rather than live.
Many students find that taking exams helps with their progression and gives them a goal to work towards. However, this is not for everyone and at Aspire, we aim to give students the best support and opportunities for their individual development.

We have an online portal on which students and parents can create accounts. On there you can access your lesson notes, practise resources, see your balance account and receive reminder emails.

We appreciate that children can be nervous and so having a parent nearby can be a great comfort during a first lesson. However, we do find we get more out of students if parents are not within ear shot, so we provide a comfortable waiting room for parents to sit in.
