Marlene Beahan, CertHE, DipHE

Working professionally as a Pianist and Singer to this day, Marlene still enjoys keeping up to date with current music trends. She learnt to play the piano having lessons from the age of 10, and studied both classical and contemporary music. Marlene then went on to study at Stockholm’s Music High School studying singing for 3 years with a choir. To support her singing, she trained with a concert pianist for several years, studying classical repertoire and various piano techniques. Marlene’s father was a professional soloist violinist, and as a pianist she regularly had the opportunity to learn to accompany violin, and often happily performed recitals with him.

Having always had a strong passion for music from a young age, Marlene started out as a PianoBar Pianist and Singer in 1989, performing American standards and classic popular music in hotels and restaurants, performing solo throughout Scandinavia. Musically then diversified to be part of a duo, and throughout the 1990s primarily performed in hotels and nightclubs all around the world for 10 years.

Marlene later trained to become a music teacher and achieved her Level 5 diploma in Teaching and Training, and has many years teaching experience in schools and colleges, as well as working as an independent Music, Vocal and Piano Teacher.
